KRISTIN CAMPBELL
CURRENT PROJECTS
Kristin Campbell is a professional scenic and digital media designer residing in Orange, CA. She was born and raised in the state of Iowa. She received her BA in Theatre and BA in Studio Art at The University of Iowa in 2011, and her Master of Fine Art in Scenic Design from California State University- Fullerton.
Her recent work includes the projections design for A Christmas Carol at A Noise Within in Pasadena, CA, directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, and the scenic designer for Yellowman at Chance Theatre, directed by Khanisha Foster. Campbell's scenic design of Yellowman earned her a nomination for Best Scenic Design in the 2022 OCTG Theatre Awards. As a designer and video editor, she also works with Go Button Productions in Placentia, CA, working with clients such as Twitch, IGN, WWE, Kinda Funny and 100 Thieves.
From 2016-2020, Campbell served as the Managing Director of The Wayward Artist. Along with the other founding members of the company, she helped construct a thriving theatre company that continues to offer an artistic home to wayward artists throughout Southern California. In 2018, Campbell joined the OC Theatre Guild and currently serves as the Vice President. Among other programs, the guild established regional auditions, a theatre awards program and an emergency fund for artists in need of financial support during the first months of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
She currently teaches theatre design and technology at Chapman University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Campbell courses include Scenic Design, Projections Design, Scenic Painting, Drafting for the Entertainment Industry, Stagecraft, Drawing and Rendering and Introduction to Theatre Technology.
